Giulia Lomuscio is a Film Director, Producer, and freelance artist based in Berlin. Currently, she serves as a Technical and Creative Coordinator at Mutter und Vater, a leading production company in the city, where she merges technical expertise with artistic direction to oversee a variety of high-profile projects. Her work at Mutter und Vater has been instrumental in shaping the creative output of many productions.
In addition to her production work, Giulia plays a role as an EFM Guest Manager at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), where she has curated engaging experiences for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023), helping to foster a vibrant environment for industry professionals.
Known for her innovative contributions to the arts, Giulia combines technical precision with artistic vision in all her projects. At venues such as Urban Spree, she orchestrates dynamic live concerts and DJ sets, blending visual arts with music to create immersive experiences.
As a Director and Writer, Giulia integrates scriptwriting, project management, and visual storytelling in her freelance work, capturing compelling narratives with a focus on the intersection of visual and sonic elements. Living in Berlin, a hub for music and cultural fusion, has deepened her interest in exploring the relationship between music and film.
Giulia holds a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film Production from Catalyst – Institute for Creative Arts and Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management from Sapienza University of Rome. Her academic background, particularly in anthropology and ethnomusicology, continues to influence her artistic approach.
Fluent in English and Italian, Giulia’s storytelling talents have earned international recognition. Her short film No Timewon Best Screenplay at the Berlin Independent Film Festival and the Los Angeles Script Award, affirming her creative excellence in screenwriting and film direction.
Currently, Giulia is focused on her documentary series Consciousness, which explores the global electronic music scene. The ongoing chapter, Consciousness - Japan, examines the evolution of Japanese electronic music, particularly its techno scene, through the lens of tradition and technology. Supported by her residency at Paradise AIR, this project seeks to capture the cultural significance of electronic music across the globe, with future installments planned in Detroit, Georgia, South Africa, and Colombia.
